Been wanting to do this for a while and it struck me that it would be a good theme for Valentine's Day. So here you go. This is from the Kushiel books by Jacqueline Carey; Phedre's Marque and Elua's Precept. I'm still slogging through the books off and on; she has such a lovely, lyrical voice but it's SO DAMN SLOW. But that's my fault; I get bored easily when there's not a lot of stuff going on or a good puzzle to solve in a book. As for the colors I used this sequence previously in a vampire-themed Halloween design I did for one of the calendars, and I liked it so much I wanted to revisit it in another context. I thought it was perfect for an anguisette.

I am so gonna do this. I've read all the series (that's out) and it is ABSOLUTELY one of my favs. It might be slow, but it's soooo worth going through.
I think part of my problem is that I started with the second book for some reason,so I didn't have a chance to get invested in the characters. I may see about getting the first book and trying again.
Unfortunately I'm probably not going to have time - this is my busiest month of the year (see journal). Plus I have a baby gift that needs to be finished pretty darn quick. Wish I could as I'd love to enter it.
Enjoy the pattern!
